A food recipe app.
Oregano is a mobile app that helps users create a community of food lovers, share and find personalised food recipes according to their diet preferences. I was approached by the startup to redesign the key features in order to improve retention and conversions.
To understand how urban adults engage with online food recipes, we surveyed and interviewed 8 individuals who regularly cook at home. I conducted semi-structured, one-on-one interviews to uncover their motivations, behaviors, and pain points in discovering and using online recipes. In the second half of each session, participants explored our prototype, Oregano, and shared their initial impressions and feedback. This helped us evaluate the product’s usability and relevance in real-time.

Systems that will allow the user accomplish tasks.
Looking back on the process, frequent user testing and interviews helped us to raise risks sooner than later. Conducting usability testing helped to gather user feedback and helped to validate how we chose to solve the problem. Overall, given the technical and time constraints, it was helpful for the team that we managed to dedicate time for research, understand user needs and implement the learnings into the design process.
Let's work together.
